Knowing there was zero chance that Alice could ever defeat Maria she slowly raised her hands and screamed out:
"I surrender. Please don't hurt my city."
Maria burst out in laughter. Almost falling over and crushing many buildings. After she was done she said:
"You think you have any choice in the matter? Well. You do now, you chose the right thing by surrendering."
Maria forcefully grabbed Alice in her hand, holding her incredibly tight. Maria held Alice up to her face with an evil grin. And Maria continued her monologue.
"You know Alice. I've got a little deal for you. You see, I'm kinda tired of destroying cities myself. Certainly since it only takes a few steps. But you? Your a miserable size. Someone like you could have so much more fun with this city."
"W-what are you implying?"
"Well. If you destroy your city, or maybe another... I maybe just won't crush you and your city under my foot. Oh yeah, and if you even think about revolting or anything like that. Then your city is gone. And if I find you afterwards. The same story will follow you."
"I-I can't destroy my own city. It's the one thing that I want to protect, the one thing that I love most. I can't just destroy it..."
"Hah! Remember. It's you or the city Alice, or well. Should I say... Its the city or everything. You can't stop me no matter how hard you struggle! So what's it gonna be worm?"
Alice found herself in absolute despair. She didn't want to destroy the thing she was protecting for so long. But if she didn't, then Maria would certainly do it for her. And take her life with it. Alice desperately said:
"Please. I can't destroy this city, it goes against everything I have worked on!"
Maria laughed a bit. And said:
"All right. Since you are being so annoying about it. I'll give you another deal, either you destroy this city and become my slave. Or you destroy two other cities and become my slave. Sound better?"
That was a step into the right direction. Maria could be broken for sure, but pushing her limits like this could cause the deal to go south. Which would only cause more carnage. But it might be better then destroying anything. Certainly what Alice was sworn to protect. Under peer pressure she decided to...
