Fueled by Envy

As instructed, you drove up to her house and rang her doorbell. You couldn't believe your eyes. Melissa wasnt lying about the skimpy dress part, the dress she was wearing would barely fit the old her, let alone the new super-Mel.
"Yes, Brian?" she asked, smiling.
"I-uh-um... Are you, uh, ready to go?" you force out, and extend your arm.
"Why, Yes I am," she says, and walks to your car.
You walk into the restaurant, and you're immediately rushed to a table, despite the fact that there seems to be a long waiting line. Conversation halts as Melissa walks to her seat, and slowly resumes once they realize they're staring.
"So, what's it feel like, being the center of attention?" you asked, noting all the other girls in the restaurant trying to control their boyfriends.
"Amazing, I can practically feel the whole restaurant envying me, giving me... Poowwweerrrr." she closes her eyes, feeling the stares. Then you notice something odd: it almost looks like Mel is growing taller, but- no, it's just the dim light.
Dinner continues on for 20 minutes, and you're about 3/4 of the way through the entree. Then you look closely at Mel and realize that it does look like she's growing; the top of her head is definitely a few inches higher. You:
