Grant woke up and looked around. His eyes went wide as he spotted Daisy lying on the ground the size of a Barbie doll. Looking down at himself, he came to the conclusion that whatever had happened to Daisy must not have affected him. He gently reached out and tapped her shoulder with a finger to get her to wake up.
Daisy opened her eyes to see a gigantic Grant reaching for her with a hand the size of a bus. She screamed and tried to use her powers to quake him away, but she was too small for them to have any effect. Grant gently picked her up and brought her up to his face. "Daisy, are you okay?" he asked concerned.
"I..I...I think so. Other than being about 18 inches tall."
Grant smirked. "Well, I think you're much prettier than a Barbie. Plus, you could kick Ken's ass any day."
Daisy smiled. "Thanks for that."
Dr. Jemma Simmons came in. "Oh my goodness, Daisy!" she exclaimed in her posh British accent. "What happened to you?"
"I don't know Simmons," Daisy replied sarcastically. "I seem to have woken up with over half my body mass missing."
"Sorry. It must have been due to the explosion of the splinter bomb." Jemma looked at Grant. "I don't know why it didn't affect you though. That could be the key to restoring Daisy's height."
Grant nodded. "Is it safe to take her out of here for now? There's still a lot of debris strewn about."
Jemma thought about it. "It shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you check in with Director Coulson."
"Got it." Grant took the shrunken Daisy and carefully walked out. He looked down at her. "Don't worry Daisy. I'll make sure nothing happens to you. I promise. And you know FitzSimmons will do everything they can to fix this."
"I know." Daisy took a deep breath. "I'm scared Grant. I'm totally out of my depth here. Can I trust you?"
"Yes, you can. I am trying to atone and be a good person and do right by Kara's memory. I would never take advantage of a woman like that in the first place. I swear it to you Daisy."
She looked deep into his eyes. "Okay, I believe you."
