Chapter #3Re-Building Bridges by: Unknown As you’re leaving your apartment you see a familiar face walking your way. It's your formerly friend Doug, looking depressed as usual.
You roomed together when you started college and were really close for about the first 6 months. Though he’s not a full-on geek, he was shy and rooming with you helped him come out of his shell. So much so that by the second year he had made his own friends. But when he found a girlfriend the two of you started growing apart though you always tried to stay in touch.
At the start of your third year he and his girlfriend got an apartment together a few floors above yours. At first you thought this would be a great year, living with your best buds and having your old friend in the same block. But things quickly turned sour. Doug's girlfriend Jackie left him within the first week, not only was Doug devastated and no matter what you tried you couldn't convince him to pick himself up and get on with his life. So you thought he just needed some space, you didn’t hear from him for months, you tried to call him but it would always go straight to voicemail. A week ago you found out that Doug was having trouble paying the rent by himself so he got a job at the McDonalds drive-through. Working all the shifts he could to make ends meet. And you do still feel guilty for what happened between you and Jackie.
About a month ago you were working out in the gym and bumped into her. She asked you to go for a drink and what started out as an innocent chat about Doug somehow turned into a night of wild sex. You knew it was wrong but Jackie is really hot and you couldn't resist. One night turned into two, then three and then before you knew it; it had turned into regular thing - Gym, drink, sex. You told yourself it was OK, after all they had been apart for months now and it wasn't like she was your girlfriend. Just a friend with benefits. Unfortunately Doug saw it a different way. Three weeks into your "friendship" with Jackie, her roommate had let Doug in, whilst you and Jackie were in bed. Doug flipped, calling Jackie a slut and accusing you of betraying him. He was furious but not half as furious as Jackie who let loose on him. Telling him that you were twice the man he was, and how you satisfied her like he never could. He was speechless, so he just walked out and since then he has given you the cold shoulder when you tried to apologies. After a while you gave up, you still see Jackie from time to time, and he still pretends that you don’t exist.
So you pass by each other as you walk down the hallway and as usual knocks you with his shoulder and gives you a look of disgust. His sweat stained uniform tells you he has just got off an early shift from McD's.
For a moment you consider just taking it like usually but for some reason you stop and say, "Come on man, this has to stop!" but he ignores you and walks up the stairs. Screw him, but he was your best friend and you needed to sort this out once and for all. You run up the stairs and catch Doug just as he is opening the door to his apartment. Seeing you running towards him, he quickly enters but you manage to get a foot in the door.
"Doug stop. We need to talk." you shout.
"I have nothing to say to you Aaron." he replies, but you manage to work your way into his apartment. It's a mess. Take out and pizza boxes are strewn across the coffee table. Clothes are everywhere. Doug has not recovered like you hoped.
Ignoring the pig-style, you continue. "Look Doug, you’re going to hear me out whether you like it or not. I'm sorry. I thought you were over Jackie. But if you're not then fine. I won't see her anymore."
Doug steps back and rubs his eyes. "You would do that?" he asks quietly.
Relived your finally getting somewhere you press on. "Of course man. Our friendship means much more to me. Jackie and I are just playing around. But you got to realize that even that won't make her want to be with you again. It's over. She's moved on and so do you. So how about we sit down and talking this out?" you ask
Doug sighs. "Maybe. I'm not sure Aaron. Anyway, weren't you going somewhere?"
"Na just taking a walk, I'll stay here and we can do whatever you want. You can even kick my ass if you like?" you say with a smile.
Doug's face cracks into a slight grin. "Ok man. Speaking of doing what I want, what was with that crazy txt last night saying I had control of you for a week?" he asks.
"What? Oh yeah I don’t know I got some kind of weird message last night too, Just ignore it; I'm sure it’s nothing." You reply
"Yeah, if it was real you would be a half naked Katy Perry right now!" he says laughing
You laugh back. Except it’s not a laugh. A girlish giggle comes out of your mouth and you suddenly notice a breeze round your chest. Looking down you see two huge milky white breasts protruding from chest, whilst you vision is framed by long black hair. You look up at Doug who's eye's are wide with shock and his mouth is hanging open in disbelief. You run go to run to the bath room but trip up with a squeal on the very high black platform heels you find yourself wearing. Picking yourself up you make it to a mirror and stare at Katy Perry's reflection in disbelief.

"What the....!" You go to say but stop when you hear Katy Perry's high pitched girly voice. Turning to Doug in shock you plead with him in her dulcet tones.
"Dude! Help me!"
 indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
