"Let's start with Black Jack, it's an old classic." I said. Everyone agreed and we went to the Black Jack table.
There were only two other people there, a red haired man, who looked about 28, and a brunette girl who didn't look much older than 16, but I figured she probably just looked young for her age. The dealer was a fairly short, busty blonde woman with the name "Chelsea."
We sat down and introduced ourselves, the casino had a fairly personal and informal nature about it. The red haired man was named James, and the girl's name was Phoebe. The dealer also explained that no money was used in the casino, instead gender points were gambled. Players bet a certain percentage of one of the four categories on the P.I.C.s. The more percentage you lost, the more you lost your gender in that category. At around 50% you were neutral, a hermaphrodite. After that point you started gaining the attributes of the opposite gender. It was possible to go beyond 100% for either gender in most categories, but results were often difficult to predict. The BODY category would change your physical body, while betting MIND would cause changes in mannerisms and personality, eventually leading to a new identity. The SEXUALITY category was a little different. You started off as either 100% heterosexual or 100% homosexual, or if you were bi, you started at 50%. You choose whether you wanted to bet attraction to the same sex or the opposite sex, and you moved in that direction accordingly. Apparently things could get a little confusing when this category was mixed with BODY, since if a heterosexual man lost everything in BODY and became a woman, (s)he would still be attracted to women, and thus would be considered homosexual by the SEXUALITY category. Alternatively, you could bet sexual attraction in general. In this method, heterosexual and homosexual people were both 50%, bisexual people were 100%, and asexual people 0%. It also wasn't possible to go over 100% in SEXUALITY. Finally, there was the ROLE category. This was often the most subtle and difficult to predict. If you lost points, you started loosing attributes of your gender role. This category varied person to person. If someone bought into their gender role a lot, they would have more to loose. On the other hand, a tomboyish girl would have less femininity to loose, and might actually gain femininity if she was loosing. If a person didn't really believe in gender roles at all, they might not be affected at all. The final slider, TOTAL, represented how male of female you were in total. It was possible to bet from this slider, but it wasn't advised.
Matthew bet 40% BODY, Samantha bet 20% MIND, Jacob bet 5% MIND, James bet 20% BODY, and Phoebe bet from SEXUALITY. Her P.I.C. indicated she was 100% homosexual, and she bet 50% toward heterosexual. The dealer turned to me.
"Please place your bet, Miss."
