Sweet Dreams, Marie

"Good night Mom! Good night Dad!" Marie shouted to her parents as she ran upstairs to go to bed. It was eleven at night and a friday night. Marie had no plans and was exhausted from the school week. Marie went into her room and took off her clothes. She looked at herself in the mirror and noticed that she looked in great shape from top to bottom. After observing herself, Marie opened up her drawer and took out a pink shirt with a pair of sweat pants. Marie was getting herself ready for bed like usual.
After slipping on the clothes, Marie noticed that her clothes fit well, not being too big or too small. Marie began to shut off her electronics when she noticed on her lap top, she forgot to close out of her essay that was dur in a week. Marie started to read the title of the essay: "If Gretel Was In Hansel's Position." Marie's language arts class were reading fairy tales lately. Their current assignment was to write about a fairy tale in a different way. Marie chose to write about Hansel and Gretel, but if Gretel were fattene up. After reading the title, Marie saved the document and shut down her computer. But even after that, Marie kept on thinking about the assignment as she began to question herself.
"What if Gretel was fattened? Would she want it? Would she live? Would she be bigger than Hansel was fattened? What would happen?" Marie began to ask herself.
She shook it off for a moment, slipped under her covers and began to close her eyes to go to sleep. Before finally falling into her slumber, Marie asked herself a question that could stay in her mind for a while:
"If I was Gretel, what would I do?"
After that, Marie fell asleep, leading her to the beginning of her Hansel and Gretel dream....
