Her aunt yelled dinner was ready.
"Hmmm I wonder if Aunt Yenna's food taste just as good as she looks. Anyway, it smells delicious!" Shea said as she ran downstairs and into the kitchen.
"Hello Shea! I'm really glad you decided to come here. I hope you like your room. If you don't like it, we could look for another room. I have several rooms..."
"What are you talking about?! My room is terrific. I love it! I love purple and I love candy!"
"Oh yeah! I heard you liked candy so I decided to buy some for you. If you want, I also could put a T.V in your room. I have one I'm not doing anything with. Of course only if you want it!" Aunt Yenna said to Shea.
Shea slowly started to smile. She always wanted a T.V in her room, but her parents were against it. Now, she was just offered one! Just less then two hours ago, she hated coming here and now, it seemed like this was terrific!
"I would like a T.V. Can I have some of that food? It smells good!" Shea asked, noticing the food sitting on the counter.
"Oh of course dear!"
Aunt Yenna put a big bowl on table while Shea followed to the table. It had a yellow crust. Shea looked curious at it. She couldn't remember seeing anything like it.
"Be careful honey! The bowl is still hot. It's a gratin. It's made from potatoes, cheese, onion, cream, bacon... Oh my, you're not a vegetarian are you?"
"No I'm not a vegetarian. I love meat. It smells delicious!" Shea said, loving the smell of the food.
Shea picked up her knife and fork and took a small bite. She slowly chewed it and discovered it tasted delicious. This was great. Aunt Yenna was a really great cook. If she cooked like this everyday, she wouldn't mind staying here. Delicious food, a huge room in her favorite color, candy, a T.V, and a sea nearby.
"I could get used to this! But still I do miss my friends. Especially my crush, Nick. He's so cool. But now I'm gone, I'm sure he'll find a new girl."
Shea and her friends of course talked about guys and she and her female friends all thought Nick looked cool.
"Well I'm afraid I can't help you with that. But you know, sometimes you lose friends. That's too bad, but that's how it goes. Can't do anything about it. But you'll also get new friends. You know there are a lot of children around here. A lot go to your new school. But well, you still have five weeks vacation so you have time to know some of them. Maybe you can have a slumber party. I hope you don't mind but I might have told some kids you would come to live here. I think you get a lot of new friends here. Most kids here are pretty nice. The girls were happy I told them you were also a girl," Aunt Yenna said as Shea shoved forkful and forkful full of food.
Shea suddenly noticed she ate the entire gratin. She was surprised she ate the entire gratin since it was pretty big. She was more hungry then she thought. Well, it also tasted pretty good to her and she did love to eat.
"Well If you want to, you can go outside and meet some of the kids. But be home by 6:00 for dinner, alright? I will put the T.V in your room."
"Alright! Thank you Aunt Yenna,Shea said as she hugged her Aunt and started to head outside.
