You stayed put, hoping to figure things out. Trying to outrun Delcatty would be futile in the open living room. She would have you inside of her in an instant.
"Delcatty, it's me. Don't you recognize my voice?" you asked.
It was quiet for a moment. Delcatty stopped moving. Then, to your surprise, she responded in clear English.
"Oh, so it is you," she replied.
"What? You really speak our language, Delcatty?"
"No, I'm still meowing, you just think I'm talking in English," she said. "Of course I'm speaking English, moron."
"How?"
"Maybe I have just been hiding it from you all, playing dumb," Delcatty told you. "Or maybe all us pokemon are doing that to you. Who knows?"
"Hey, I was shrunken somehow, can you please help me out?"
"Oh, I knew that you were shrunken. In fact, I was hoping I'd have the chance to meet you after you became shrunken."
"How did you know?"
"The humans. Your family," she said. "They planned it from the very beginning. They wanted to quietly get rid of you. The best way, they discovered, was to simply use a new type of pokeball that could shrink you down. Your dad got it from a friend who works in some big fancy human company. They said they thought you wouldn't last a minute before one of them accidentally stepped on you."
You couldn't believe it. Your own family did this to you...
Delcatty smiled in the darkness.
"It was all pretty cruel, if you ask me."
"So, will you help me out?"
"Maybe," she said.
"Huh? Why just maybe? I could die!"
"Well, if you survive a little game with me, I'll consider helping you out."
"A game? What game?"
"How about 'Cat and Mouse?'" she said. "I'll be the hungry cat, and you'll be the soon-to-be-eaten mouse. If you don't end up in my stomach, I'll help you."
"You're going to try to eat me?" you asked. You were shocked. Delcatty didn't really seem to care after all. This was all just fun to her.
"Well, if you don't want to play, we can skip the formalities," she replied. "I'm kinda tired anyway, and a quick snack like you would get me by for the rest of the night. So, what do you say?"
