A Ranger Station

((Edited by Drakin))

You've entered a small hut, probably a ranger station of sorts used by the individuals who keep watch ob the over-large park in the middle of the city. It's small and sparsely furnished with a desk, a couple chairs, a cot, some filing cabinets, a poster board, and so on. Basically what everyone might expect to find in a typical small office. Outside the storm seems as terrible as every and the few trees that can be seen through the window sway heavilly under the wind and the rain.

You try to regain your composure and try to get your head together but that nearly goes out the window when you feel a hand thump down on your shoulder.

You turn, heart pounding, mind filled with cliches from slasher movies, but the figure is dressed in tan pants and a green shirt overlaid with an orange vest and topped with a wide-brimmed green hat. It takes you another moment to notice the figure is a rather jovial looking gray furred wolf. The wolf was quite stout, looking almost as wide as he was tall, as his belly, which was like a great ball, was barely contained by his uniform and only lightly squeezed by his belt.

"Sorry to frighten you like that," he smiles with a very faint southern accent, "But I don't get many guests in my office, especially not on a day like this. And especially especially not naked as the day they were born."

At this you look down and blush as you realize you are indeed completely naked, though the fur of your privates seems to hide them well, you still duck behind one of the filing cabinets out of embarrassment as the wold just laughs.

"Aw, no need to be so jumpy," he smiles, "I'm not one to judge. Besides, you aren't the first one to show up completely naked and looking confused and lost."

This particularly gets your attention, as it seems others might had found this place much the same way you did.

"Here," the wolf pulls out a towel from a nearby closet, "You look like you could use a warm shower, follow me."

The wolf leads you through the door in the back of the office into a small bedroom, though the bed is little more than a double mattress on some blocks. Through another door is a nice bathroom which he ushers you into, "get nice and warm and clean. We'll talk once you're feeling better."

Eagerly you hop in, glad to feel the warmth leach the chill from your bones. You spend maybe a bit longer in the shower than you mean to, glad for the heat, before finally, reluctantly, getting out and toweling off. When you get out he has a nice hot meal waiting, mostly park foods of hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, pretzels, soda and a nice big hot fudge Sunday.

"The concession stand is right next door," the wolf smiled, "I was able to make a quick dash from here to there and back with some food for you. Don't worry, it's all free."

As you eat the wolf began explaining that there had been a odd occurrence over the years of beings showing up in the park, naked and with no memory of how they got there. nobody had seen how they arrived, and there had been no records of them in the town before. it was as though they just appeared there for some reason, and yet no one had ever seen it happen.

"Sometimes it gets busy too," the wolf chuckled, "Had at least half a dozen appear in near the exact same spot on the same day just hours apart. Took us a week to get them sorted out."

As the ranger finished you couldn't help but yawn, having been more tired than you thought. With a smile the ranger lets you snuggle into his bed for the time being. "I'm sorry, you yawn as you drift off, "I don't even know your name..."

The wolf smiles, "It's Rodger." Though even as he says it you drift off to sleep.

Hours later you yawn and stretch, memories slowly coming back about that had happened as you slowly get up and spy a stack of clothes in a nearby chair. As you pull them on you glance in a nearby mirror and are surprised to see your formerly lithe body now sported a small belly. True, you had pigged out a bit before you fell asleep, but it hadn't felt like that much at the time. It wasn't a large belly though, barely sticking out four inches from flat. Cute and shapely though far from a burden. Though it is a little unsettling as you slip on the remaining clothes that they all seem a tad large even with your slightly rounder middle.

Soon Rodger comes back and smiles, "Good to see those clothes fit, I honestly had to guess your size and I wasn't sure if I got it right. They're lost and found items, and don't worry, they've been missing for a while so it's unlikely anyone is going to come for them."

Idly you wonder for a moment what events could have caused one or more individuals to loose their shirt and/or pants in the park, but shake it off quickly not needing the imagery in your head.

The storm seems to have stopped and so you feel you're ready to face the day. Before you leave Rodger gives you his number in case anything happens and you need his help as well as some numbers of folks who might give you some help also. Once more thanking the wolf for his generous hospitality you step boldly out of the cabin into the bright sunshine of a new day full of promise.

Now, where to go....
