You forget about your TV for the moment and continue shaking Monika's hand and blurt out that you are hungry. You then let go of her hand apologizing. She laughs and it is hypnotic to your ears.
"Oh I was hopping someone with an appetite would show up. I laid out a bunch of food for this, what is it that you Americans call it, yard sale. Anyway I cooked and baked all sorts of delicious German foods." Then she asks you, "Have you ever had German food before?"
You tell her that other than beers and sausage you have not. She seems wickedly excited at the prospect of you trying German food for the first time.
"Well then I would be honored if you tried some of my very special German food." She says to with a odd look in her eyes.
