Johanna was worried about her daughter Dawn. A long illness had left her daughter even thinner than before, with a waif like frame that left her with very little energy. Dawn had always been on the thin side, but this was worrying. Her appetite hadn't quite returned following her illness, and despite her mother's best efforts, Dawn just wasn't gaining the weight that she should be. It was all the more worrying when she was supposed to leave for her grand pokemon journey very soon, Johanna didn't think her daughter had a chance of surviving out in the wilderness while she was so physically weak. But she didn't have the heart to forbid her daughter to go, she had been dreaming of making that journey since she was a chubby face five year old.
Johanna watched from the doorway as her daughter slept, both Dawn's nightclothes and the bedcovers swamping her tiny frame. She looked so small and fragile curled up like that, and it broke Johanna's heart to see her so weak. She crossed the room, leaning down to kiss her daughter's pale forehead lovingly. She had a few vague ideas of what she could do to help her grow stronger again, and she was willing to try every single one of them.
