Not wanting to anger the queen Gloom, you raise your head so your nose meets the Gloom's foot and take a deep sniff.
Now you realize why they get their reputation. Gloom are naturally known to excrete a horrible smelling nectar, but... The queen Gloom's foot smelled incredibly stinky. It smelled of moldy cheese and vinegar, to be precise. This pungent aroma nearly made you throw up, and the Gloom was particularly proud of this fact. But you had much more torture in store.
The Gloom made you smell her left foot for the next ten minutes, and then she switched it with her right. Her right foot smelled even worse and at this point you were close to fainting. You couldn't take much more of this and the thought of how you were ever going to escape from this. You were wondering what had happened to Totodile and was wondering whether he was going through the same sort of smelly hell somewhere else.
After another ten minutes the Gloom removed her right foot and you had about twenty seconds of fresh air. But, the Gloom sat back on her throne, and the Oddish carried you closer...
