As soon as you step through the door, you feel a chill run down your spine, not only because the air inside is a bit cold but also because of the unsettling feeling it gives you. The room you find yourself in is devoid of life and veiled in darkness except for the beam of sunlight shining through the front door. There are some furnishings like tables and chairs inside, suggesting that at one point there was some sort of business here. You can only guess what happened to that business in the past, but you certainly know they aren't open now.
Even worse, this likely means that the sign in the window is merely a leftover from the previous owners of the building. You sigh with disappointment; you may never find a job at this rate. After a brief examination of the darkened room, you turn to make your way back outside.
Suddenly, you hear a continuous scraping sound, almost like someone in the back of the building were moving furniture around. You become uncomfortably nervous at the sound, for it indicates that someone is back there. That could be a good thing; the person might have put up the sign in the window and may have some sort of job for you. More likely, though, it could be any number of shady characters, maybe a thief, rapist, murderer, or some sort of mental case. There's no way to tell from here, so if you're really curious, you would have to make your way toward the rear of the building to see who it is. Of course, the risk may not be worth it, and you might be better off looking for employment elsewhere.
