This choice: Jake has a huge growth spurt - From outside, Jason sees Jake outgrow the house • Go Back... Jason didn't mind walking outside in his underwear. Every time his parents would scold him about it, he would say, "Who cares? It's just the body God gave me." And besides, their street was a cul-de-sac and didn't have a lot of traffic pass its way. Today, though, Jason didn't have to worry about any parents, as they had left early and wouldn't be back for a while.
As he walked out the front door and down the sidewalk to where the paper got dropped off at, his mind turned to his brother. Sure, it may be mean of him to force Jake to change the channel, especially when he had the TV first, but it was Saturday during college football season! His brother couldn't expect Jason NOT to want to watch SportsCenter to see the preview of the TCU game this afternoon. There were certain perks to being the bigger brother; getting the remote on demand was one of them.
He got to the newspaper's box and pulled it out, opening it to quickly check out the sports section, looking to see the scores of last night's high school games. As he did so, though, he felt the ground begin to rumble. "What the--" he asked, looking around. "Is that an earthquake?" The rumbling, however, seemed to be coming from inside his house.
Turning around, he was stunned to see his house shaking, the walls creaking and groaning. "Jake!" he thought. "I've got to rescue him!" He started running towards the house, only to stop when he saw his brother's foot at the window on the left side of the door. At least, it looked like his brother's foot-- except that it was nearly five feet long! Jason stared, dumbfounded, then turned his head to see the other window also filled up with the other foot. And it was only getting bigger.
After a few seconds, the foot broke through the window glass, and two giant legs shot out. Looking up, Jason saw the same thing happen with the windows upstairs, except this time with two long arms. He opened the front door, only to see the entire hallway filled with his brother's massive junk, hard and rushing straight towards him.
Panicking, Jason began to back away quickly, but couldn't remove his eyes from his crumbling house. Suddenly, the roof began to push upwards, and shingles flew everywhere as Jason saw a large head full of blonde hair break free into the outside world. Slowly, it moved upwards, revealing two eyes - Jake's eyes -- looking around in amazement.
"Whoa," Jake's voice filled the air, "this is awesome!"
At this, the sides of the house finally fell over and the roof collapsed. Coughing at the dust and debris, Jason finally saw what could only be the giant naked body of his little brother filling the space where their house used to be.
"J- Jake?" Jason asked, incredulously.
Jake looked down at Jason and smiled. "Hey, Jason," his voice boomed. "I guess you're not gonna be able to watch SportsCenter after all."
Froze in his tracks, Jason couldn't help but stare at his behemoth brother, who stood up to his full height of over one hundred feet tall. For his part, Jake loved the feeling of being huge, though he wasn't quite sure if he was still dreaming or not. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
