I am starting on my trip. I plan to canoe the Nahanni River. For this trip I am using a sixteen foot tripper canoe. It is packed with all the supplies I will need as I j-stroke my way along this wonderful river. The entire river is over over 400 kilometers in length and is contained in the Canadian Nahanni National Park. I had decided to canoe this completely alone but several of my friends said that wanted to share the experience. So now we have four canoes. Two canoes have couples and two canoes are solo. This of course makes sense because if there are any difficulties there are other people there to help.
It does mean however that we must bring a greater amount of supplies. My friends who are expert canoeists will share their views as we progress on our trip.
My friends are:Rob and Cathy Innes who are padling a sixteen foot woodmaster. Jason Paul and Samantha Grayson are paddling the newest kevlar canoe. John Dubrowsky is using a wooden canoe he built himself.
