Down the dark path

The laughter from everyone present was too much. A smelly, muddy foot squashed Carina. She didn't even have time to scream.
Everyone stood for a moment, unsure of how to react. Then, there was panic. Everyone ran in every direction, except for Mandy's, of course.
Mandy looked at her foot. She could see the blood and muscle that remained of Carina. Her dream of living peacefully in a world of bugs was dead along with her roommate. There was no turning back.
But then a smirk came on her face. She may as well enjoy this.
This could be fun after all.
