This choice: a lamp, like the one from Aladdin • Go Back... An old oil lamp. A dull gold in color, this lamp had a handle on the back and a long spout in the front, with a lid featuring a pointy handle on top. The salesman had sold it to her for next to nothing, something about it being garbage and the lid being stuck. Remembering the Disney movie Aladdin, and how this lamp looked so similar to the one in that movie, Cindy wasn't so sure it was junk. Of course, fate could be pulling another cruel joke on her and the lamp really was useless. Her size, her boyfriend breaking up with her, the notice that her rent was almost up, today just really wasn't Cindy's day.
Granted, she might have been taking the whole giantess thing far too seriously and roughly with him. Boys like him were hard to come by, but maybe it wasn't too late to win him back. However, she'd need something big to do that, like becoming a real giantess and being nicer to him overall. Get rid of these ridiculously awful excuses for curves and give him something more appealing to take POV shots of. That is, if this lamp did what she suspected it to. But right now, Cindy wanted a snack, and so went into the kitchen to fix herself a bowl of chips.
After a comforting bowl of all dressed potato chips, Cindy mentally prepared herself. The lamp looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in decades. She was far from afraid of getting her hands dirty on it, but the sheer level of grime on its golden surface was rather disgusting. Then again that might be a means of encouragement to rub it for all she knew. Either way, she was going to clean the lamp. At worst, it might make a nice decoration in here once she paid off the rent. Cindy gave the side of the lamp a gentle rub and waited. And waited. And waited some more. "Just my luck..." she grumbled. But then she got an idea.
Cindy took the lamp into her kitchen and placed it on the counter. She filled her sink with warm, soapy water, and then dunked the lamp into it to soak. She figured that it might be so grimy that the genie can't detect her attempts to summon him...or her. She reminded herself that the possible genie could just as easily be female. Since it was going to take a little while, Cindy decided to take a small nap on the couch, dreaming dreams of being enormous.
About an hour later, Cindy awoke from her pleasant dream to her not-so-pleasant reality. She remembered the lamp she had left soaking in the sink and figured now was probably a good time to try cleaning it. And then hopefully, she might be able to get a genie out of it to grant her wishes. Keyword hopefully. Cindy went back into the kitchen and scrubbed the lamp with every bit of muscle her puny arms could muster. "This had better work for all the cramps this is causing my hands..." she mumbled in annoyance. It was rare for her to wash anything by hand, considering the perfectly good dishwasher could take care of it and...well, if this failed she'd have fewer dishes to clean in a week without her boyfriend. She was beginning to think he didn't deserve her, as there wasn't one moment she could think of that he hadn't been giving and understanding.
After wiping off what grime she could off of the lamp, Cindy was beat. Her hands were aching, not used to having to work so hard. But she wouldn't rest, not until she found out for sure if this lamp was worth all the effort she had gone through. She gave the side a somewhat firmer rub, hoping beyond hope that something would happen. That a genie would emerge to grant her wishes. That she could become a real giantess, and a beautiful one at that, just as she always dreamed and longed for.
And did anything happen as Cindy rubbed the lamp as though her life depended on it? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
