After thinking about it for a few minutes, Sam realized she was even hungrier than she thought, so she decided to go out and look for food.
She exited the cave very cautiously, alert for any sign of danger in case the Hunter had noticed the side entrance after all, but it was nowhere to be seen, she had escaped it. For now...
As she walked away from the cave, her stomach began to growl. She would need to find food fast. She was a great hunter though, and had already picked out the sounds of several potential meals not far from her location.
Straight ahead, she could hear birds chirping. She quite liked birds because they moved around a lot after being swallowed, a feeling she enjoyed intensely. They were understandably hard to catch however, even with her enhanced speed.
To her left, she had seen some small rodents crawling around. They weren't particularly appetizing, but they would do and wouldn't be to difficult to catch.
Lastly, off to her right, she had heard the splashing and small voices of what sounded like some miniature mermaids. She had only managed to catch a few of them during her time on the island as they were rare and very quick, but she knew from experience that they were delicious.
She would have to choose quickly, because the Hunter would surely be back after her again soon, and then there would be no time for food.
