"Um. Ms Thompson." You say. "I know you're in a hurry but could I go to the toilet before we leave."
"Oh, I'm sorry Daniel." She says. "Yes, go ahead. I'll wait here with your bags."
You return quickly and follow Ms Thompson to her car.
It does not take long to get to her house.
"Felicity, Sarah!" She calls her daughters once you are both inside. "Danielle's here."
The two girls emerge from their rooms and Ms Thompson introduces them. "Danielle, this is Sarah." she indicates the younger girl, she looks to be about six. "And this is Felicity." She must be the one your mother mentioned. She's about a year older than you."
"Hi." you say.
"Hi Danielle." Sarah replies.
"Hi." Felicity greets you, taking one of your bags. "Come on, you're sharing with me."
You follow the older girl to her bedroom. There are two beds set up. "This one's yours." she indicates places the bag on your bed.
"Thanks" you say, placing your other bags with it.
As you unpack, she asks questions about where you're from and what your school was like last year and what boys you likes. It seems that the two of you will get along. That's good since you'll be sharing a room.
When you finish unpacking it is time for dinner.
It is a good meal and you chat with Felicity and her mother. Sarah clearly feels left out of the conversation and keeps butting in with barely-related points. At first her interruptions are cute but they quickly get annoying.
Felicity rolls her eyes, indicating that she shares your frustration with Sarah.
After the meal is finished and the table cleared Ms Thompson tells Sarah. "Time to get ready for bed."
"Aww." Sarah complains.
"You know the rules." Ms Thompson says leading Sarah to her room.
"Let's watch TV." Felicity says, heading to the living room.
You sit with her on the sofa as she turns on the TV and starts flicking through channels.
