Chapter #6

Meet her Friend

    by: SWP Author IconMail Icon
“We got to get going to meet her. You’ll like her. She’s in kind of a unique situation.”

She places you in a small jewelry box and closes and drops you into her purse.

She books a taxi to her friend’s place who is waiting on the steps for her. You hear as they greet each other and exchange warm hugs.

“How are you, Fatima?” your captress asks her friend.

“I’m doing okay, all told,” her friends responds. “Thank you so much for being willing to come out here.”

“No problem. It was on my way. I only wish I could stay more than a night, but with work, I just can’t…”

“I understand. You have a busy schedule.”

“But with everything going on with you, I knew it was important to get here as soon as I could. You seem better than when we talked over the phone.”

“Yeah,” The friend responds, pausing for a long time. “I am. I’m still depressed, though, but I think that was the worst of it.”

“That makes perfect sense. Geez, your husband left you, and you got fired on the same week. Of course that takes time.” Her friend only responded with a quiet hmm as it she was hesitant to acknowledge that. “Your husband was a cheating asshole, and maybe it was time for a brighter job anyways.”

“That’s helpful.”

“I also brought something for you.” You feel her rummage through her purse and grab the box you’re in out. “Here’s a little gift for you.”

“You didn’t have to.”

“It’s fine.”

“No seriously, jewelry doesn’t really help right now.”

“No silly, it’s not jewelry. That’s just the box. Open it!”

You feel the box handed off and feel the top open. Above you stands a woman of normal to slightly skinny build in her thirties, of maybe Algerian or Moroccan descent, black slightly curly hair down to her neck and large hazel eyes. Fatima looks pretty, except that life had sucked the energy out of her.

“I’m not really in the mood for one of your snacks,” Fatima states, looking up at her friend.

“Not this time. I got him for you as a little pet… or a companion… to help you get back on your feet.”

“I don’t know…”

“You need a little company hun.”

“It’s just a lot.”

“You’re depressed. I get it. Such a thing takes a little time to process, but trust me, he’ll help you as you build yourself back together. I needed a few when my husband and I divorced.”

“I don’t know,” Fatimah replies, handing the box back to her.

“Ok, how about this,” your original captress suggests grabbing the box. “Let’s leave him on the mantel here.” As she says this, she walks over to the fireplace and dumps you nonchalantly onto the mantel above it next to a set of pictures. “Let’s hang out and catch tonight. Give it a day or two to think it over and then decide whether you want him. If not, just send him back to me.”

“Okay, it’s just that I never had a little person like that.”

“Just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s bad, but forget about that for now. Let’s hang out. I leave for my flight by 6:00 am, but let’s go hit a few bars and open you up. Drinks are on me”

They leave as they go paint the town red, leaving you stuck on the mantel.

After a few hours in silence...
