You are now a Chinese orphan adopted by your same parents
Your father is yelling in the living room as he reads the paper. Your mother is sitting with him. "Would you look at this? Another company bought by the Chinese! And instead of filling it with proper, hard working Americans; they dismissed them for more of their countrymen! What is wrong with this country that we just let them take over the nation?" he roared. "Honey, it will be alright!" your mother replied. "And how long sweetheart until the Chinese take over your marketing firm and throw you out? I've been an electrician for 25 years until they canned me!" he bellowed.
Since that you are now Chinese, you whimpered a little and you worry that maybe you’re in the wrong house. “Jun, sweetheart!” calls out your mother when she sees you. “Darling, how was school?” she declared, wrapping her arms around you. “It was fine, Mum!” you answer. She beamed at you, kissing your forehead. “Well sweetheart, you better go up to your room and to do your homework!” she exclaimed.
“Yes, Mum!” you replied. The phone rang and your mum answered. “Sweetheart, its’ your girlfriend Carissa!” called out your mum. You stepped down to answer, annoyed that Carissa wasn’t your girlfriend that way. “Hi Carissa!” you reply. “Hi cutie! Can I come over? I could really use some help with my homework!” she asked. “Yeah, that would be fine!” you respond. “Maybe check with your parents?” she suggested. “Oh yeah, just a sec!” you put your hand over the phone and asked your mother if Carissa could come over. “Of course she can, sweetheart! Just don’t close your bedroom door! You know how your father and I feel about that!” your mother answered.
It was a strange answer but you shrug it off and invited Carissa over. There was a knock on the door and Carissa was waiting outside. She beams and wraps her arms around you. This is the high point of your day so far. But then you hear something that makes it better. “God, you’re hot! I could barely think watching you in that tight skirt all day! I want you!” she whispered. Carissa was your girlfriend that way! You were a Chinese lesbian and your parents clearly knew.
They were however obviously now your adopted parents. You had so many questions. But for now you watched as Carissa spoke to your parents, her winning smile seemed to cheer up your father and brightened up your mother. “Well, I need your wonderful daughter to help with my homework! Thank you Mr Harrison; Ms Harrison!” she declared as she took your hand and you ran up to your bedroom.
It was painted nauseating pink, but with photos and posters of female singers, actresses and a few swimsuit models. You were without question a Chinese lesbian. She grins at you again as she pats the bed. You sit next to her, your heart pounding. “I take it Ken, this is quite scary for you?” she asked. Your eyes grow so wide, they almost explode out of your sockets.
“Yes, I know! What you said about Chinese girls, well it really upset me! You see I had a Chinese girlfriend called Jun Xiaoping who died in a hit and run. It hurt me the way you spoke about Chinese girls and now you are one! Your parents lost their son Ken when he was 13. That’s was when they adopted you, their pretty little orphan. You should know that I completed my homework before I got here!” she explained.
“Are you saying…” “Jun, you have a choice. You can accept your situation for the time being and I will kiss you softly on the lips. An option we will both enjoy!” she paused to beam at you squeezing your hand. “Doing this means we are dating officially! Or you can ask me how you became Jun. I will not view this positively.” She added, her eyes going cold. You shivered slightly. “So either you choose to accept this, I kiss you as your lesbian girlfriend. Or you ask how it happened and deal with the consequences! Obviously your parents don’t know you are their late son Ken, but they know you like girls. Or they know for now!”
You made up your mind, quickly. It wasn’t much of a choice, really. You....
