"I don't think that trying a trendy drug on me is the best way to test your skills as a mother." You say with concern.
You see a pouty lip develop on Beth's face as she teasingly pinches your cheek. "But you'd make such a cute babyyy." She says in a childish voice.
"Okay." You hear yourself say just as her eyes light up with the mischievous look that made you fall for her in the first place. "Just give me tonight to think about it. I promise you'll have an answer by tomorrow." You say, trying to sound sincere, without revealing that you have no intention of indulging Beth's wish. You kiss her goodnight and are soon fast asleep.
You awake to the smell of freshly cooked bacon, sweet pancakes, and hot coffee. Your mouth salivates before your eyes are able to open. As you start to sit up, you see Beth through blurred, sleepy eyes. She is bringing you breakfast in bed.
"Good morning, Baby!" She say's with a loving smile. "Hungry?"
You nod, groggily as she places a food tray on your lap and sits down next to you on the bed. "Good morning, Beth." You say happily. "What have I done to deserve this?"
"I don't think I need a reason to show my hubby how much I love him." She says as she caresses your hair.
You are taken slightly off your guard by her response but she is being so gentle and you feel too comfortable to consider it any further.
"Eat up, sweety." She says. "You have a big day ahead of you."
You look down at your plate, almost drooling, when you notice an unusual foamy head on the mug of coffee. You notice Beth's eyes fixated, glancing into your eyes and then at the mug, and back again at you.
