All the traces pointed all fingers towards one thief, or cat burglar. I knew that she would strike at Gotham museum, they shipped a new item and stored it here two nights ago. Before following her, I did some research on the item. From what I found, it was a rare artifact of Egyptian origin, an ancient ring with an emerald jewel carved in the shape of some kind of Siamese cat. Apparently, the ring bearer would possess unimaginable power, capable of manipulating another living being, including humans, into any shape or form the bearer desired. As impossible as it sounded, I couldn't take any chances. It was no wonder why Catwoman would be interested in such a powerful item.
I followed her into the museum, it was dark, silent and vast, the burglar could be crawling about anywhere in the building. The security was even tightened since the last time, but this didn't seem to phase her, and this was no problem for me. Creeping through the building in search of the mischievous thief, I had a strong suspicion that this would be no ordinary night.
Further down a long hallway, I found her, naturally crawling through the improved burglar alarms, like the professional that she was. I watched from the shadows as she successfully reached her goal. She obtained the ancient ring and, almost instinctively, leaped from the scene. Once again, I followed her out of the museum and onto the rooftops of the city. I followed her to a familiar spot, overlooking the entire residential district, bright under the moonlight. It was here where we both shared our first kiss, a night I would never forget.
She prepared herself for my arrival, as if our encounters had become routine. She was the least bit surprised when I finally revealed myself. "There you are," she remarked with false innocence, "I was hoping you would show up earlier tonight."
I was not amused. "Where is the ring Selina?"
"You can see right through me, can't you?" Catwoman laughed sarcastically as she reached into her suit and pulled out the ring from her cleavage, holding it in between her sharp fingers. "That's good, because I can see straight through you, Batman."
"I'm afraid I can't let you steal that ring."
Catwoman simply chuckled. "Sorry darling," she replied, "But we're not going through all this again. Not tonight. There's going to be a change of plans."
I immediately realized what she intended to do. I had to take action. I lunged towards her, but she immediately dodged my attack and leaped up to another vantage point, as if she anticipated my response. "Don't you ever get tired of the same old routine Batman?" She asked as she once again jumped out of my reach, "How about a little change for once?" I did not reply. I was more concerned with subduing the petty thief before she put the ring on her finger and figured out how to activate its tremendous power. I lunged one more time, but once again, it was futile, as she once again jumped out of my reach. Now with the ring in her finger, she pointed it towards me. It seemed that she had already researched how to use the ring herself. "Let's shake things up a little bit!"
There was little I could do. She pointed the ring directly toward me with malicious intentions. A blinding light beamed from the diamond ring, shining over me. Under the beam of light, I realized that something remarkable was happening to me, much to the enjoyment and much to the desire of Catwoman. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
