This choice: She swapped bodies with Mary Brewer, an overweight woman. • Go Back... With dull, brown eyes, three extra chins, a rear end that looked like it could fill half a row all by itself, as well as a belly that stuck a whole three feet in front of her, Selina was no longer a looker. She couldn't see her feet and her skin was a far cry from the smooth flesh she had literally a moment ago.
Looking to her right, she saw her body, a state of shock on her face as noticeable as her own.
Zatanna beamed as she brought the microphone to Selina first.
"And now," she delightfully asked, "Who are you?"
Still in disbelief, she carefully replied. "Selina Kyle."
"And you?" Zatanna asked the woman now inhabiting Selina's trim body.
"Mary Brewer."
Zatanna basked in the applause from the audience and motioned for the shocked pair to sit down off to the side and enjoy the rest of the show. So Selina and Mary did, watching as Zatanna finished her show, still in disbelief. The female magician turned herself into a pig, became a giant-sized version of herself, and finally summoned a whole Roman legion on-stage, before everything vanished before the audience's eyes in a flash of light, leaving only Zatanna with a wide grin on her lips. Everyone cheered, including Selina, until she realized just how exhausting a simple task like clapping her hands was now in the overweight body of Mary Brewer.
As the audience filed out, Zatanna walked up to Selina and Mary to give them each a hug, slightly straining to wrap her arms around Selina's current body. "Thank you so much for agreeing to do this."
"No problem," Mary replied as she continued to examine her athletic frame. Before the show, Mary was on the run from some thugs, when Zatanna saved her life. She told the magician that she would do anything she wanted in return. At first, Zatanna wouldn't accept the offer but then tonight's show was looming and both of her assistants had called in sick. So she asked Mary, and Mary agreed.
"I suppose you two would like to go back to normal, right?"
Both women nodded, though Mary was a bit slower to do so. It was nice being so fit for a change, much to the chagrin of Selina Kyle.
Zatanna closed her eyes and cast the reversal spell. Selina waited for the ripping feeling to return, but after several minutes with no feeling, she opened her eyes only to find herself still in Mary's grotesque form.
"Zatanna, what's going on?"
Zatanna tried again, speaking the words aloud. She spoke several arcane languages, but still nothing happened.
"Well...it looks like you two will have to stay like this for awhile. I'll need some time to research how to get you two back to normal."
"How much time?" Mary asked, unaware of the distressed look upon Selina's chubby face.
"A few weeks. I was certain I knew the reversal spell. Sorry."
"Sorry!?" Selina was starting to see red. "You're sorry?! Look at me! How can I be in society looking like this!"
"Hey!" Mary cut in, "That wasn't nice."
"Well news flash, honey! I'm not nice," Selina irrationally shot back. The two glared at one another until Zatanna jumped between them to break the tension. "Ladies, don't fight. I'll fix this, I promise."
"You had better," Selina growled. And with that said, Zatanna nodded. She was about to head to her study until, suddenly, several thugs burst into her venue, machine guns in hand.
"Where's that lousy cat burglar!" A familiar voice squawked, causing Selina to turn pale. Then, from the entrance, emerged Oswald Cobblepot, better known to the public as the Penguin, one of the most powerful crime bosses in Gotham city at the moment.
Luckily, Zatanna pointed her wand and the group of criminals, including the Penguin himself, fell asleep, giving her enough time to teleport herself and the other two ladies away. Finding themselves in Zatanna's home, Mary began to panic. "What was that about? Why was The Penguin there?"
Zatanna looked at Selina, realizing that she had done something to cross the crooked mobster. "You better tell her. She's a part of this now!"
Selina groaned but eventually nodded. "You see Mary...the thing is... I'm Catwoman."
Selina waited for a gasp but what she got instead was a loud thump as Mary fainted. Selina gave a great huff, putting her hands on her wide hips as best she could.
"Fantastic!"  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
