There were certain advantages to this arrangement. The body required some adjusting, sure. She had to practice with her voice. Her posture. Her behavior. Little experimentation here and there. She had to blend in so people didn't ask questions.
And it was so much easier to blend in as this woman than it was as Bruce Wayne. No one had ever seen this woman before. And nine times out of ten, she'd be forgotten by whoever she encountered before long. Depending on the outfit, strangers weren't often looking at her face.
She felt some stranger pride in that.
Her main focus, however, was tracking down Catwoman. Wherever that ferocious feline went, she had hidden deep underground. Not a single trace of the thief remained.
So, Batwoman turned to predicting the thief's next move. She glanced through local art shows and museums around town. Any event or function that might grab the burglar's interest.
But when she thought about it, it seemed risky to leave those precious artifacts where they were. Catwoman was too crafty. She could steal them any time. And Batwoman had no way to stop her.
That was when she hit on an idea. A deviously, wickedly, clever idea.
What if she stole the artifacts first?
It only made sense. Replacing art with identical forgeries. Inside the forgery would be a tracking device. With that precaution, Catwoman would be caught in no time.
Her plans formed quickly. The prize Harrington Ruby was on display at a local gala. That would be Batwoman's best chance to make the switch.
She didn't explain this to Alfred. He wouldn't understand.
The question was, how to go about it... she needed a convincing disguise...
