Katherine Kane was investigating the abduction of her on-again off-again girlfriend, Renee Montoya. The traces led to an old hideout inhabited by the clown prince of crime, the one and only Joker. With no sign of the dark knight, it was up to Batwoman to take on his bitter rival. Unfortunately however, when she found Montoya, she was horrified to find her several hundred pounds overweight. Now obese, Montoya was rendered useless and unable to defend herself. She was completely defenseless. When Batwoman attempted to rescue the massive Montoya however, she was captured by the Joker's own girlfriend, Harley Quinn. Now in the mercy of Harley Quinn, Batwoman soon found out what happened to Montoya first hand, and found herself gaining some extra weight of her own.
On another occasion, Poison Ivy had fallen into depression, due to her unrequited feelings for her best friend, Harley Quinn, and had found comfort in food. This resulted in some strange new powers for the deadly woman. Now, instead of making her victims slaves to her will, they would become slaves to their own appetites. Now over two hundred pounds in weight herself, and finding her extra baggage not that big of a deal, Ivy sought to test her new abilities on several of her adversaries, including Batgirl and Catwoman, all while trying to win her best friend from her psychotic boyfriend.
