It had been almost 3 years since that fateful day; the day that changed the world forever. One day, as if out of nowhere, a massive meteor crashed into the earth's surface. Upon impact, the bizarre space rock released an alien radiation that was dubbed by scientists simply as "the DNA nuke", due to the effect it had on anything that it came in contact with. The space radiation caused the DNA of anything exposed to it to become completely scrambled, resulting in strange transformations as it spread across the globe.
Within only a week of the impact, every female on the planet, human and animal alike, had been mutated. Yes, only females. Scientists were baffled as to why, but somehow the Y-chromosome in males was able to to neutralize the effect. The result was that females were transformed into humanoid animals. The transformation only affected human women slightly; they now each possessed the ears and tail of a random animal whose traits they acquired, and their personalities began to show the influence of that animal's behavior. Otherwise, human women remained mostly the same as before.
Female animals, however, had a more drastic transformation. They all took on a body shape almost identical to that of humans, while maintaining whatever fur, scales, or other coating their bodies had. Unlike human women, who only adopted ears and tails, the animals had truly become anthro versions of their former selves. Perhaps the most drastic change in them, however, wasn't even the physical aspect of the transformation. You see, when they took on human form, the animals all came to possess the same level of sentience and high intellect as humans themselves. The female animals who had taken on human form were fully capable of human speech now, while maintaining the ability to communicate with other male animals in their native tongue.
Long story short, females across the world had all been turned into human-animal hybrids. Scientists decided to redefine the term human to refer exclusively to the males who had been unaffected by the DNA nuke, while adopting the new term semi-anthro to refer to the mutated females who had taken on animal traits. The mutated female animals were now referred to as anthro, and the male animals were still categorized under the term animal. While it had taken a fair bit of time to get used to, within only a few months society had completely reformed itself to adapt to these changes.
However, since anthros often had greater speed and strength than humans, and semi-anthros had much faster reflexes thanks to their animalistic traits, females in general had become much more self-reliant. They no longer needed males to defend them, and were capable of easily outmatching them now. Luckily, it was an incredibly rare occurrence for females to abuse their newfound physical superiority over males. More often than not, these abilities were simply used in self defense. In actuality, this knowledge that females were now stronger than them served to reduce the number of sexually oriented crimes that were committed, and ended up making society as a whole much more peaceful than ever before.

"Big brother, wake up!"
Before you even knew what was happening, you opened your eyes to see your 9 year old sister Emily running into your room and preparing to jump on top of you in your bed!
"No, Emmy, don't do-"
You were cut off as your hyperactive little sister lept into the air and landed on your stomach, knocking the air out of you. You looked up at her smiling face, her pointed dog ears perked up and her tail wagging back and forth in excitement. Emily had always been a cheerful little girl, but ever since the DNA nuke mutated her when she was 6, your kid sister had taken on the traits of one highly energetic chihuahua!
"Morning bro! Did you sleep well?" Emily asked with her usual enthusiasm.
"Yeah Emmy, I slept fine... But could you please get off of me now?" You ask, trying to catch your breath.
"Sure thing bro!" She said as she jumped right off of you again.
Once she got off of you, you got out of your bed and pet your little sister on the head, right between her furry white ears. Emily giggled with a relaxed expression on her face, as she always loved it when you rubbed her there. You then go downstairs to greet the rest of your family. Your parents, your twin sister Alissa, who had taken on the traits of a rabbit during the DNA nuke (becoming a literal bunny girl), and your former pet cat Sadie were all already sitting at the table to eat their breakfast. Sitting down to join them for your final breakfast as a complete family, you and Emily began to dig in along with them. It was your final breakfast together because college would soon be starting, and you would have to leave for a long time.
Your family was pretty normal... Well, normal by the modern definition anyway. You would have found a family like this totally freakish only 3 years ago, but now you had grown used to it. Your mom was a fairly attractive woman for her age, and despite being 42 years old, she was still just as beautiful as ever. She had taken on the traits of a beagle since the DNA nuke, and her long floppy ears drooped to the sides of her head. She was a caring mother who had raised you and Alissa all by herself ever since you were born, due to the fact that your father abandoned her when he found out she was pregnant (he wasn't ready for the responsibility of being a parent), and she didn't get remarried until 10 years later. your new father was often away at work, but he was a perfect match for your mother. They loved eachother dearly, and had your little sister Emily 2 years after the marriage.
Your 21 year old twin sister Alissa was one of the most attractive girls you had ever seen, and you would definitely want to go out with her if not for the fact that you were related. Her long blonde hair and deep blue eyes made her beautiful face hard to look away from. She had a perfect hourglass figure and large D-cup breasts, which she had caught you staring at more than once. She commonly teased you about this fact, and enjoyed taunting you with her incredibly sexy figure from time to time. Still, she cared dearly for you, and you got along better than many other siblings would. Her long bunny ears almost always stood straight up, and her cotton ball tail was incredibly cute as well. Over all, Alissa was a great sister in both looks and personality.
Your little 9 year old sister Emily, who you usually called by her nickname Emmy, was an adorable young girl. She was rather short for her age, but her cute face and small stature made her absolutely irresistible. She was the kind of girl whose sheer cuteness made you want to grab her and give her a big hug. She had short brown hair, and her short chihuahua tail was perpetually swinging back and forth with her boundless energy.
Sadie used to be your pet cat, an adorable Persian kitten that you raised since the day you found her abandoned in a cardboard box on the streets. However, 3 years ago, she became a regular member of your family when she was turned into an anthro during the DNA nuke. Despite being a fairly chubby kitty before the transformation, Sadie's body now was perfectly shaped. It seemed like all of the fat on her body had relocated to the ideal positions, namely her boobs and her butt. As such, she also had an incredibly attractive figure just like Alissa. Her entire body was covered from head to toe in a coat of light orange fur, and her pink paw pads on her hands and feet were as smooth as silk. Like most cats, Sadie had retractable claws that she used in self defense.
Your family was great, but tomorrow was the first day at your new college. You didn't know for sure what it would be like, but you were told that it consisted mostly of anthros and semi-anthros, with only a small percentage of the students being normal human males. You, Alissa, and Sadie were all going to the same school, and you were setting out tomorrow.
