My name is Carl and for the first time in a long time I belong to a community of people who share my interests. We play a variety of games on-line. We do some Starcraft, some First Person Shooter games and of course World of Warcraft.
Several people I have gotten to know on a personal level even though I don't actually live in the same country.
There was Laura a fifteen year old girl in the Netherlands who was a huge gamer girl. She also routinely kicked everyone's ass in any game that was played. Frankly I was borderline obsessed with her. She was cute (she shared her profile pic with the group) liked the same things I did and had a great personality. I loved doing things for her, if she needed an item I crafted it. If she logged in and we already had a full group I voluntarily dropped out.
There were other people of course. I also got along with Scott who didn't game quite as much as the rest but he was pretty cool. He was into soccer or as they called it in his home country of England, 'football.' Like I said he was pretty cool but I did hate how he and Laura seemed to be growing closer and closer together.
Things came to a head when they started posting how much they liked each other on the group message board. I was really jealous. I had done so much for Laura, given her millions of gold piece, did lots of things for her. Why was she choosing him over me? Not that I had told her how I feel... I was a bit shy of course.
What was I going to do now? The two were going to get married in game and then they talked about meeting in real life. I wanted to meet her in real life! What was I going to do?
