It's a long walk in the dark, but you kind of need some time to think this out anyway, a novel experience for you. Usually you just jump into something feet first and worry about consequences later. Jackson is always warning you 'that'll get ya in trouble one day!' Hmmm, maybe. Right now though your head is spinning with the possibilities of what you can do. During the trip you practice changing your hand from a guys hand, to a girl's hand, to a really big hand, to tiny baby's hand... and even an octopus tentacle. It seems things away from your old body can be tough, though if you have a good image in your head it's a lot easier. So you can easily copy Jennifer or other family members as you know them so well. Someone you've barely met and can't easily visualize might be tough. The tentacle is tricky, but Emily has watched quite a few horror movies with octopusesse... Octopi? Whatever the plural is of that, so you've got enough of a feel to be able to make a semi convincing tentacle arm.
You wave it around, a three foot long grey tentacle with sucker sprouting from your normal human shoulder. Heh, what would someone say if they saw you now? 'Argh! Invasion of the Octo-people!' Suddenly you sober and turn back fully into your old shape. You really DON'T want to be sliced and diced in government lab somewhere! Best keep this secret.
Emily's place is on the outskirts of town, greenery spread between the houses here unlike at yours or Jackson's place. You know Emily's window and skip over the hedge and crouch down below it. Gently you tap at the curtained window. Emily is a light sleeper (So she says) so you keep it quiet... at first. Seems she's not THAT light of a sleeper after all and it takes a rather harder tap to wake her in the end.
You see a light come on behind the curtain and after a few minutes they part showing a sleepy Emily in pajamas. At first she doesn't really react, just stares at you, then she looks anxious and she opens the window.
"John? What's wrong?" She says. "It early in the morning!"
"Emily, nothing's wrong, well not really, but I've... well you've gotta see this to believe it!"
Without thinking you just spread your arms and say "Slime on!" and Do the Goo!
Emily's eyes suddenly go very wide, staring at your now amorphous, slimy body, only approximately the shape of your old one and a deep red, transparent hue.
