Ray gun

You walk over to it and pick it up. You study it, it has various buttons and lights. A knob catches your eye, it has pictures of a gryphon, a dragon, and a creature which, due to the fading light, you can not discern. You put it in you backpack and head home. The next morning you wake up and fail to remember the ray gun. You accidentally step on it...
