This choice: The next day at school. Hello Linda! • Go Back...Chapter #5The next day at school. Hello Linda! by: NarutoXD   Ralph sat down staring at the necklace for hours until he fell asleep. When he woke up, it was the next morning. Ralph couldn’t wait for school today. When he got down stairs, he thought his parents would freak out from his growth, but when he got there, his mom set a large plate of pancakes in front of him.
Mom “How’s my big boy doing? I gave you a few more pancakes because you need the energy to grow.”
Ralph thought this was weird “Hey mom. Do I look bigger? At least bigger than last night?”
Mom “Really? I can’t tell the difference. You could be a little bigger, but I can’t tell.”
Ralph “Oh… Ok. I guess I’ll work harder.”
Mom “Don’t work to hard. It takes time for result to show. Now hurry up and finish. The bus is almost here.”
Ralph thought about what happened as he ate. No one notices his change. When Ralph finished, he went outside and got on the bus. As he walked down the middle, no one acted out. It seemed like he has always been like that. He looked for an empty seat, but saw only one. It was next a girl named Zia. She is an easy to get along with kind of girl, who is smart and very active in community events.
When he sat down next to her, he felt his eyes drawn to her, making him examine her in everyway. His heart started to pump, and he felt hot. The snake in his pants threatened to burst out. In the end, Zia said “Hi. You Ralph right? I’ve seem you around.”
Ralph snapped out of his trance “Oh… Umm… Yah. I’m Ralph. Zia?”
Zia “Yah. You’re pretty big aren’t you? Well actually, you are big.”
Ralph faked a cough “Uh… Yah. I guess its just genetics. You look athletic.”
Zia “Well I hope I do. Either that, or crew practice is for nothing.”
Ralph “You do crew? That’s rowing right. What’s it called… a canoe?”
Zia laughed “If you said that to the coach, she’d flip on you. Its just a boat. Never say canoe.”
Ralph “Boat… Got it.”
Zia “Do you do a sport?”
Ralph “No, but this crew thing sounds interesting. I might give it a shot.”
Zia “Awesome! We can use anyone we get. We are very lacking in players.”
They continue to talk for the remainder of the ride. In the end, Ralph had asked if she wanted to go for a smoothie after school. Just to talk. Nothing more.
When Ralph got off the bus, he felt a strange lightness in his body. He felt happy, and calm. As he walked, he thought about what to say to her after school when he heard a voice.
Linda “Hey you! I owe you for yesterday.” He walks up to you and grabs your new shirt. He tried to lift you up, but couldn’t for some reason.
Ralph “Not right now. I’m having a good morning.” He said in a nonchalant tone.
Linda got angry at how he spoke “No one tells me what to do. You’re nothing but a pipsqueak, but you weigh more than you look. Did you put rocks in your shirt? You’re heavier than yesterday.”
Ralph had a curious thought. How am I heavier. He should be able to lift me with no problem. His thought was interrupted when Linda gave him an angry punch. He felt a light thud, but nothing more.
Linda grabbed his hand in pain “What do you have under there?”
Ralph “Nothing except my abs, and other muscles.”
Linda “No muscle is that hard.”
Ralph “What ever. Believe it or not. Bye.” He walks away leaving Linda standing there in awe.
