Gramps “I want you all you stay close by. No funny business.” He gives a sharp look at Ben.
Ben smile innocently. Gwen was looking around, and admiring the building. The halls were full of display cases full of rare crystals and rocks that were being used for medical uses.
The tour guide “Thank you all for waiting. Now if you would follow me this way, we’ll get to see that world’s largest synthetically formed diamond. And its still growing bigger!” This got people’s attention, and they followed along.
Ben on the other hand had other things to do. He walked with the crowd, and slowly began to back up. When they were out of sight, he walked away into another hallway. He walked down and say behind one of the windows was a room filled with an endless array of technology. “I wonder what all those things do…” Ben continued walking until he found a door, and he slipped in. All of a sudden, he heard a door slam. Ben quickly hid behind something.
Voice “Doctor. This must be the greatest thing ever discovered. This mineral can solve the obesity problem. It will strengthen any human! Can you believe it! When the ray hit the crystal, and fired at beam at that mouse, it practically doubled in muscle mass.”
Another voice “Ok. I know its exciting, but remember that this must be confidential until we fully test it, and get it patented.”
Voice “Sorry doctor, but do you know what this means?”
The other voice “Yes. I do. All kids with growing disorders will be cured, and improved beyond our imaginations.”
Voice “Yes!”
Soon the voices faded away.
Ben “I wonder what this thing is?” Ben was slowly think of what it’d be like to be bigger and stronger. No one could boss him around. He could do stuff that he was to small and weak to do. “If only…” Then Ben got an idea. He looked around until he saw a security camera. He hid behind another machine, and turned to the Omnitrix. You could see the aliens change until you saw a blobby kind. “Alright… Upgrade…” Ben pressed down, an there was a flash of green. When it cleared, you saw a strange green blob. It moved, and jumped into the security camera.
As soon as he did that, security alarms flared. A speaker turned on “All personnel! There has been a security breech. I repeat a security breech. All tours are postponed till further notice. Make way to the field up front.
Gramps looked around for Gwen, and saw her standing near the front of the group, but where was Ben. Gramps waved for Gwen to come closer. “Have you seen Ben?”
Gwen “He’s gone isn’t he… idiot!”
Gramps sighed “Where could he have gone?”
Gwen was a bout to say she didn’t know, but a security camera caught her eye. Instead of the usual clear lens, there was a large green circle that was blinking. Gwen pointed to it “He’s there…”
Gramps turned and saw that camera.
Back with Ben, he was looking around, and he saw Gramps and Gwen stare at him. “Oh no. They saw me!” Ben quickly retreated from the camera and went around looking for this mineral they were talking about. Suddenly, he felt a sucking motion. All the energy inside the wires that he was in was being dragged to one location.
*Three floors down*
There were dozens of people in lab coats preparing for the next test of the newest mineral.
A woman stepped up to an old looking man “Doctor. All preparations have been completed. We are ready to proceed.”
Doctor “Alright then.” The doctor stepped up to a large machine in the center of the room. The machine was a laser kind of thing, but it had a clear container in the middle. A stream of energy was being passed through it. Inside was a green softball sized orb. The doctor walked up to a control panel near by and pressed a large red button. The laser started to charge up and drag a huge amount of energy. In front of the laser was a young kid. Average in every way. He signed up for this because he wanted to be bigger. As the tension built…
Ben was being forcefully sucked threw the wires. He couldn’t fight it. The current was to strong. It twisted and turned, and doubled back several time. Then suddenly it slowed down. Ben looked forward, and saw that he was heading toward an opening. He was shot out and he saw a giant green orb in front of him. The current he was riding sent him orbiting the orb, and POW! He slammed into it, and got sucked in.
*Outside the ray gun*
Beep Beep Beep.
Woman “Doctor. It seems that something has gone past security and obtained access to this room. The person could be manipulating the laser!”
Doctor looked slightly panicked “Shut it down! Shut it all down!”
All of the scientist in the room went to a near by electrical panel and started to turn this off, but it was to late. The laser was already charges up, so it fired!
The kid looked as the laser hit him for a brief second. The feeling was warm and tingle, but that was about it. Then it stopped. The laser started to recede back into the machine, and it no longer fired at the boy.
The beam from the laser moved back until it was back in the orb. Then suddenly, it fired out a bright Green light, but it didn’t continue to the boy. It stopped short and began to bugle out at the end as though it was being trapped in a bubble. The laser kept on firing until it ran out of power. Slowly, the ball of green light ‘popped’, and out came a green alien.
Ben looked around and was confused. What happened? I just slammed into a green orb, and now I’m in a room surrounded by scientist. Wait! They can see me. Ben started running towards an exit. The scientists in his way ran scream at the unusual green monster made its way to them. Then the worst happened. There was a green flash, and Upgrade turned back into Ben. The flash blinded everyone for a moment giving Ben enough time to get away.
The kid sitting in the test area was looking over his body, and smile slightly. He was the average skinny kid before, but now he was more on the heavy side. That brief contact with the laser had made him really athletic. The kid was about 10 yo, and his muscles were big, but not to huge that it looked weird on his body. The kid stared as the green thing ran away, but blinked when it changed into a boy. That boy looks familiar… The kid couldn’t remember at the moment.
The scientist was still in panic over what happened. Only one person was quiet, and it was the doctor. The doctor stood in front of the machine, and he was looking at the clear container. There used to be a green orb in it, but not any more.
Back with Ben, he had ran up several flights of stairs. In his panic, he didn’t see that he was different.
