Explanations

James couldn't be more shocked at his appearance.

The face in the mirror could hardly be seen as masculine. The face was soft, with radiant blue eyes. His hair was the same dark brown, but was now down to his shoulders and appeared a bit more black than normal. James just gasped at the sight and looked down. He saw a slightly curvaceous figure wearing a plain long-sleeved shirt with shorts of the same color. Two noticable lumps adorned his chest.

"What the hell?!" he, or rather she, screamed. The girl holding the mirror had to close her ears for that time.

"That was quite a screech, although I guess it was to be expected." sighed the girl.

"W-What is going on? And who are you anyway?" asked James.

"My name's Myrrh. Pleasure to meet you." said Myrrh, her demeanor turning a 180. "And long story short, you saved my life from those Shadorians, and now you're the same as me."

James just raised an eyebrow at her, not having a clue as to what she just said. "Could you say that again in english?" he asked plainly.

Myrrh shrugged and was about to elaborate, until.....

"You're pretty miss!" said the little girl from before, who jumped on the bed again, bouncing James a bit.

"Uh, and you are?" asked James.

"My name's Fae! It means "fairy", so don't forget it!" exclaimed the little girl. James was completely confused right now.

"Fae, we're talking right now. Why don't you go play?" suggested Myrrh.

"I don't wanna! I have a right to see my new cousin!" said Fae.

If possible, James' eyes got even wider.

"Wait, cousin? What in the world are you talking about?" he asked, very much upset about this.

"Well, as I was getting to before I was interupted.." started Myrrh, pointing a glare at Fae. "I was attacked by those Shadorians, who are those demons you saw. You saved me from getting killed, but nearly got yourself killed in the the process. The only way we could save you was by using our power of rebirth on you. However, the results of it are very random, so that's why you became like this."

James just sat there dumbfounded. "So you turned me into a girl?" he asked.

"Unintentionally, yes. Like I said, the results are random. If we didn't do it, you'd be dead right now." said Myrrh.

James sat there, trying to compose his next question. "So what did this girl mean by "cousin" exactly?" he asked next.

"Pull your shirt down and look at your right shoulder." said Myrrh. James did as told, looking at said shoulder, pulling the neckline down far enough. Once again, he was surprised, as there was a mark there. It looked like a circle, surrounded by some elaborate markings.

"That is the Mark of the Exalt, and only members of our royal family have them. I as well, and so does Fae, or some odd reason." said Myrrh.

"Hey!" remarked Fae.

James looked at both of them and saw what they meant. Fae had a similar mark on her forehead, but he couldn't see Myrrh's.

"Mine is above my left breast, and I don't feel like showing it right now." she smirked, making Jame blush a bit at the thought. Then, another thought came.

"Royal?" he asked.

"Yes, royal. I'm the princess of Skyaira, and next in line as of right now. Fae here is from a branched family line, but got the mark anyway." said Myrrh, getting another remark from Fae.

"So, you're saying I'm part of it too?" asked James.

"More or less." said Myrrh.
