"But Tsunade-sama is too busy to mold you into an obedient slave, so I offered to do it. I pointed out how strict I am with her about keeping up with her paperwork and she is my superior. I told her to just imagine what I would do if I had complete ownership over you and she liked the idea. So Naruto, your punishment is to be my slave for three months. You will be eligible for freedom after those three months if you are well behaved enough. Of course, Tsunade-sama was kind enough to give me the option to keep you as my slave after those three months if I so choose whether you agree to it or not." Shizune grinned.
"What?! But I'm Tsunade's successor! I'm going to be Hokage!"
"Maybe. Or you might just be my slave." Shizune countered with a cruel grin. "Sakura actually expressed interest in being Hokage. She told Tsunade-sama that if it wasn't for your dream, she would be striving to be Tsunade's successor. So I might just keep you as a slave so Sakura can become the next hokage. She would be great for the job."
Naruto stared at Shizune with a look of shock on his face. "But...but... I'm going to be the greatest Hokage! No one can do a better job than I can..."
"Sakura is actually more prepared for the job than you are. She thinks before acting, she is Tsunade's apprentice and observed Tsunade on the job, she has the same desire to protect the village as you do, and her high intelligence has allowed her to develop clever tactics. She's far superior to you when it comes to being the Hokage."
"But I'm stronger than her!"
"It's not about who's strongest slave. It's who is more right for the job. And Sakura is still very powerful."
A cold shiver went down Naruto's spine when Shizune called him slave. He couldn't believe this was happening. He could very well lose his entire dream all because of one dumb prank...
"What if I refuse to be your slave?"
"Then you will he executed for treason for denying the Hokage's order." Shizune lied. There was no one in the village who would let Naruto get executed. He had managed to wiggle his way into a soft spot in the hearts of every single Konoha citizen.
"She would..." Naruto sputtered. Tsunade was serious about this if she would have him executed for this. He didn't want to do this, but being Shizune's obedient slave was the only way to keep his dream alive.
"Ok... I'll be your slave Mistress Shizune." Naruto finally said. "I just ask that you remember what I will do as Hokage that no one else, not even Sakura, can do. I'm going to see my father and Jiraiya's dream become a reality. I know I can bring peace to the world. I know I can end all the hatred."
"Of course slave." Shizune replied with an unreadable expression on her face. It didn't really matter if she remembered that or not, she already had a good idea of what she was going to do with Naruto once he served his three months.
