The next day Sakura decided what she needed to do, it would be quite the.. unorthodox approach from her part, but her guts were telling her she needed to act quick and fortunately, this Suki girl was merely a civilian. The intense emotions she felt the previous day took over her normally well-balanced judgment, and while she knew what she wanted to do would be punishable behavior she was confident enough in her own skill to get away with it.
All she needed to do was to scare Suki a bit to kill that relationship prospect before it became something more serious.
Of course, Sakura considered the other options but she found none of them would work out quickly: Talking with Naruto? She already did that and had to strain to keep her emotions in check after what he told her, plus it wasn't like she couldn't see his point (she rejected him so many times that it was obvious he would move on) or like she could tell him outright her plans for him (she wasn't even sure if it would work as she imagined it) and last but not least, it could probably ruin the friendship she valued so much if she suddenly decided to act jealous.
Trying to sabotage the relationship on Naruto's side just seemed like asking for trouble, bringing an additional risk she also feared it would happen if she just decided to play the waiting game to know more about this Suki girl for a more measured approach. What if Naruto was right? What if he keeps feeling she's the one for him? What if Naruto starts neglecting her to spend more time with Suki, or Suki starts taking more priority than their friendship? It was this particular fear what compelled her to focus on the weakest link in the equation, even if it was against her own principles and the village laws.
Sakura followed her day to day routine before leaving the house still with doubts on her mind, thinking on what would be the most effective way to achieve this. On paper it was easy, she was a kunoichi and Suki wasn't, but on practice a lot of things could go wrong too. From the tiny but not inexistent chance of someone seeing her to Suki herself denouncing the attack or worse, Naruto extra care of her and spending more time together as a result. She walked aimlessly through the village, hesitating on how drastic she should be and if it was really worth it.
