Perhaps a very old and unique type of magic: Dragon God slaying magic, the ability to use a powerful type of fire magic that uses a blue flame that is made to destroy darkness like demons people with blackened souls, and such only to be taught by the Dragon God: Requiem who is long deceased. In which the character would have had a spiritual encounter with him.
