One could say David and Amber had it all. They were young, beautiful, came from money, had a bright future ahead of them and they even found love early with each other, married not out of convenience like other rich people but because they really were kindred spirits with a lot of things in common, even certain fantasy that seemed impossible to make real, or so they thought.
The honeymoon they originally planned through Europe got cancelled and replaced by a more discreet, less luxurious trip to Bermuda Islands on their personal airplane at last minute precisely for that reason. It was all fortuitous, but David thought maybe they really were blessed when one of his father's colleagues visited him and drank a bit too much, revealing the confidential project her company was working on and the promising breakthrough she achieved.
It was a shrinking compound.
For different reasons, both David and Amber grew up fascinated with the idea of size differences and the power dynamics that could come from it. With their privileged backgrounds and above average height they both even veered towards role reversal situations imagining themselves not as a power couple of 6' and 5'10'', but so smaller than that they would be at the mercy of anyone that would find them. The moment they discovered they shared such a thing was when they decided to marry, even if both their parents disagreed. And because it was a simple unrealistic fetish they just enjoyed the idea of roleplaying all kinds of scenarios, from being taken care of by gentle giants to surrendering everything and becoming slaves to someone that could crush them with ease if they so wished.
Once David overheard what his father's friend, Dr. Xin, achieved, he couldn't let go of the chance what he and Amber fantasized so much with could be a reality. He contacted her discreetly, shared his interest and thanks to who he was managed to "volunteer" himself and his now wife to help the doctor achieve a new breakthrough, under his terms of course. That meant not being trapped in a boring lab, but using the compound in a tropical island where he and Amber could live the dream unobstructed. When he shared his plan with Amber she agreed so quickly it was decided it would make for an unforgettable honeymoon adventure. As for the good doctor, she somehow failed to understand David's real intentions, but she agreed with the conditions appreciating the financial help and the interest shown on her project.
Landing safely under a clear sky, David took his wife's hand and shared a delighted smile with her. They both thought the same, this would be a lifetime experience that would beat any boring Europe trip. The plan? They would meet Dr. Xin today and she would personally provide the compound, then in 2 weeks they would meet at a specific point and receive the antidote. In the meantime? Nearly complete freedom to do whatever they wanted. Dr. Xin's only demands were to sign documents releasing her and her company of responsability from side effects of the dangerous medical treatment, a way to provide feedback in the process since they would go on unsupervised for two whole weeks, and a promise to do it in a more controlled environment once they were back home. David eagerly agreed, it was understandable to sign those documents for obvious reasons and honeymoon exploits aside, he was truly interested on Dr. Xin's development. It could easily be a Nobel Prize worthy invention.
Dr. Xin avoided making questions after noticing the just married sign on the airplane and as promised gave David the compound, a small bottle that she recommended using in small doses since the animal trials so far were successful but David and Amber would be the first humans to try it. She also provided them with a couple of fancy devices that had two purposes: As cameras to log the process for the requested feedback and also as an emergency button so she could reach out in case they needed help.
When asked about it, Dr. Xin laughed and said she would also be in the islands the two whole weeks taking much needed vacations, explaining this was too important to her to just go back to work but reassuring David and Amber their privacy will be respected. This reassured the couple and as they parted ways, the only thing left to decide was when and how to do it.
For everyone interested they would be staying in the most luxurious hotel the island offered, but as agreed with the hotel manager, she would cover for them politely denying calls as they were too busy making lifelong fantasies come true. They could always go to the hotel, explore the island to find a good place to use the compound, even try it right there and then! They also had to consider what Dr. Xin claimed, they would be the first humans to try it so some side effects could happen, not only in terms of slight nausea and headaches, but also with how the process worked. For the lab animals the process was nearly instantaneous, but it could work slower than expected, or in a different way than expected, or even not work.
"Are you ready to start this?" David looked at his wife and kissed her.
"Whenever you are, husband. What should we do first?" Amber asked back. The whole thrill of it all confirmed her marrying David was the right decision, who else could she share something like this with?
What happens next?
