"Are you sure you're going to be okay by yourself." your mother ask when the last box has been moved up to your new dorm room.
"Yes Mom." you lie. You're actually terrified, you've never been so far away from home and you don't know anyone here, but it's too late to change your mind now.
"Stop smothering the girl." your father pulls her away. "She'll be fine." He kisses you on the cheek. "Have fun Emma but call occasionally so your mother knows you're still alive."
"I will." You tell him. "Bye Dad. Bye Mum."
With that they leave, through your window you watch them drive away almost wishing you were in the car with them.
Your roommate hasn't arrived yet. You look nervously at their bare bed. It'll be so weird to share a room with a stranger. You hope that the two of you get along.
