You wake up with a similar warmth around you as before but with less chaos and noise. You opened your eyes to see the Natsu human looking down at you intently. This time when you moved it barely hurt at all. You stumbled to your feet and it was then that the relative silence broke.
“You’re awake!” Natsu yelled to which you cringed down into a fearful position. The noise was obviously not welcomed and he seemed to get it right away as you looked around to see more than a few human faces looking at you as you spun to look at them. You went in circles on his hands for a while as you looked and sniffed around. It smelt chaotic to you. So many smells and most of them you didn’t have the slightest clue what or who they were. You stretched your wings and took to the air. “Hey, come back.” Said the human but you didn’t really understand him, yet. You were learning quickly and by the tone of his voice and his body movement you could guess what he wanted.
“Hold on their Natsu. Just looks like he’s getting a good look around.” Said the old voice from before. You took to soaring after you discovered a hard surface above a certain point. Around and around in circles you went as you gazed down at the humans watching you, taking in every little detail. But the more that you did so the more you were getting confused. They were so weird and well different then the memories that flooded your head. You quickly noticed that you wouldn’t be gaining any considerable knowledge like that but just as you figured that out your still partially damaged wing gave out and you began to fall to the ground. But it didn’t last long as a familiar pair of hands caught you.
“Hey, be careful. You’re still weak from whatever happened.” Said Natsu and again you couldn’t figure out what he was saying but got the gist of it as his concerned face and trembling hands told the story all too well. You rolled over and stood again, flexing your wings and looking at the injured one. You licked at it but realized that it was still too damaged to fly.
“Ah, the poor thing’s wing is still to hurt to fly.” Said a female voice that you tracked to a young looking girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. You then felt a sneeze coming but not knowing what that was yet you just let it fly. As you did a massive amount of flames went out and took out part of a stone wall and sent you back into Natsu from the propulsion. You shook your head then continued to explored up Natsu’s body until you came to rest on his shoulders and in a small whitish looking clothe that was around his neck and was for some reason really comfortable to you. So you snuggled into it and his neck then looked back out to the humans as Natsu stood and looked at you the best he could. They were all slightly shocked at what just your sneeze did which was followed shortly by Natsu laughing.
“Yep, he found someone just as destructive as he is.” The blonde haired girl said, slightly annoyed.
“You got that right. What a sneeze wouldn’t you say Natsu?” asked the blue flying cat as he tried to land next to you but you sent a growl over and although weak the little blue cat listened.
“Hey, be nice to Happy Max.” instructed Natsu. You were slowly getting the hang of their language and understood him, mostly. Understood enough to know that he had named your Max and didn’t growl as the cat sat on the shoulder next to you.
“Max? Is that what you’re going to name him?” asked the little blue cat as he reached over and started petting you. At first you had to stiffen a snarl but then you got to liking what the little blue fur ball was doing.
“He likes it, right Max?” asked Natsu to which you raised your head and licked his neck then laid it back down on the cloth apparently called a scarf. As you relaxed your genetic knowledge began coming to you and filling in the blanks. “See?”
“Yes Natsu, it seems you have yourself a pet dragon.” Said someone else in the room to which you growled at the words. The act got him and the others around him to flinch as they didn’t want to cause another sneeze in their direction.
“Max is not a pet! He’s going to be my partner, right next to Happy.” Natsu said as if getting ready for a fight. Well that was until you nipped at his ear. “Ow! What was that for?” he yelped to which you chirped back at him. “Huh?” he asked, still not understanding until he and the rest of them heard your stomach growl. “Oh! You’re hungry, that’s it isn’t it?” he asked to which you licked him and chirped an affirmative sounding response. You didn’t have the vocals to mimic human speech yet so you just had to make do until you grew a little.
“Come on Natsu, let’s get him something to eat.” The blue cat said, which immediately sent away any feelings of distrust from the little fur ball. “Hope you like fish.” Happy said to which you just cocked your head and chirped in a way that got across that you were confused. “What! You’ve never had fish before? Well you’re in for a treat then.”
“Better be careful Happy or he might eat you when he gets big enough.” Said another human in the room. You growled at him but he didn’t back down like the others. “What are you going to do little fire breather” he taunted to which you blew a hefty amount of light flames at him, charring his clothes and hair and leaving him stunned and coughing up a little smoke from the experience. “Right… you’ll breathe fire.” he said then passed out, causing a round of laughter. You were slightly worried that you went to far but with that reaction you were really liking this place and it almost got you to forget why you were there in the first place.
