Get dressed and check things out

Not knowing if you will get free time like this again, you decide to make use of it. You head out of the tent and start walking the perimeter of the fence. For such a savage bunch of bandits, they really did a good job with this fence. The fence is tall and made out of large wooden logs. The top of the logs are spiked to deter anyone from trying to climb them.

There is one thing you did notice. Although the fence itself is quite large and secure, there are not a lot of personnel watching the slaves. The only men in the camp are at the front gate and they cant see most of the camp. You try pulling on some of the logs, but they were well built and they are not coming down. They are clearly too tall to climb over so you try and think of another way out of this mess.

You chat with a couple of slaves as you walk the perimeter. "This place is impenetrable", "There is no way out", "It is hopeless", You hear from slave after slave after slave. You start to think this is a lost cause until you talk to a elderly man. His story seems to be a little different from the others. "There is a legend of a man who attempted an escape once. No one knows how or if he made it out alive. All I can tell you is that the night he attempted to break free was the last night anyone ever saw him"

The man points you to the tent that he stayed in and then walks away.
