Joey was a guy that Megan liked, but only as a friend. She knew Joey liked her more than she liked him, but she knew nothing was going to ever happen between them. He was okay looking, but a little nerdy, and not really into being fit like Megan was.
What Megan didn't know was that Joey had discovered a way to shrink someone her size down to six inches. And he had come to the conclusion that the only way he would ever be able to have something besides friendship with Megan was to shrink her down. So he had been stalking her for some time, trying to figure out when to slip his shrinking potion in her drink.
Megan was sitting a little bit apart from the friends she had been playing volleyball. Joey didn't know if she was far enough away that her shrinking wouldn't be noticed by her friends. But the ingredients he was using in his shrinking formula were very rare, and wouldn't be potent for very long.
