For reasons Ashley never understood, it was almost a right of passage for the boys at her high school to break into the girls' locker room at night, get into one of the lockers, and steal something to prove they had made the journey. Some girls, when learning it was their boyfriend who had been selected to make the break-in, would even leave something intimate in their unlocked lockers for their boyfriends to steal.
