Most of the people I knew all have their own profiles on a new social networking website. It was called Facespace. Of course, I was amongst the crowd to own an account, but I wasn't one of these people to have over six hundred friends on their profile. I only had about a hundred and sixty people in my friends list, all friends and family. I never really logged in often, there wasn't really much to do on the website other than chat or look at photos. In fact, I only ever logged in just to chat with two people. Of course, I chatted online often with my girlfriend, but other than her, I only spoke to a girl named Catherine Wright.
Catherine was seventeen years old, and she came from Coventry. She never even heard of Dograb until she added me as a friend. We never met each other in person, but from the comments that we shared with each other over the past few weeks, you would think that we close friends for years. Judging from her photos, she was quite an attractive girl, with long brown hair and crystal blue eyes, but if you would see them, you would think that she was just another scene kid. Well, if you were to think that, I would have to disagree. She was one of the nicest girls that I ever spoke to, and she had a heart of gold.
But it wasn't until a new app was uploaded onto the website when things got out of hand.
Looking back now, I should have suspected that an app called the Mind Swapper was a terrible idea, but of course, I was curious. Since no one else was interested, I decided to check it out. From what I saw, the app would select a random person from my friends list and create a situation where we both swapped lives for the desired amount of time. Initially I thought that there would be some kind of online simulation that generated random events that would take place over that specific period in time, expecting hilarious results, but unfortunately, hardly anything happened. All that happened was that I received an email thanking me for using the app and telling me to enjoy my new life. No swap, no simulation, no prediction, nothing. What a rip off! Or was it?
It was late at night when I logged out. Catherine was not online all evening. I decided to call it a night and tuck into bed, unaware of the circumstances that were to take place overnight. It wasn't until the following morning that I realized the severe consequences for my actions.
