There it was, carefully walking down the street, head pointing downwards as to see where his feet would land. He was a large beast, with dark orange skin and digitgrade feet, which didn't look at all dangerous. He sported a medium sized snout and and a single horn came from the top of his head backward. His underside was a smooth creamy tan color and his eyes were light blue. Daniel wished he was dreaming, but he wasn't. Sure enough, the orange mammoth of a lizard was tip-toeing his way to their location.
"B-but that's a-"
"That's right, he's a dragon, a damn good worker too!" Phillips interrupted Daniel as he chuckled at his surprise. "Yah see, he's been here for a while now, the city had agreed to keep him under wraps, he was small enough to fit in a small vacant building, but, as you can see he's grown quite large, too big for a building." The dragon was coming closer to the men, Daniel was shaking a little. "So he's too big now not to keep him secret."
Daniel just kept watching as the ground shook with each step. He couldn't help but think of an old game he used to play, and the character in it resembled the monster. "H-how long has the public known about this?"
"Bout 4 months now." Daniel was shocked.
"Umm...Mr. Phillips?" Daniel almost jumped as he looked behind him to see a giant crouching dragon in front of him and the group of people, behind him just acting as if nothing was there, going on with their daily lives.
"Yes? What is Maximus?" Phillips had to shout a little to the dragon to get him to hear.
"Can you tell the mayor for me that the construction of the stadiums finished?" He looked at them with dull tired eyes, almost too groggy to stay awake.
"Sure thing! Say, you look a little tired, how bout the rest of the day off."
"GROOOOOAAAAAHHH" The massive giant yawned in front of them, blowing back Daniel a bit, while the rest stood there like it was just a breeze. Man, i need to watch the news more often! "That'd be nice, but doesn't the old Schuller building need help with its remodeling too?"
"Ohhh, the construction crew will be fine without you today." The dragon smiled. And nodded then stood back up to his full height. It was too dizzifying for Daniel to watch. He began his tedious task of walking away from the area, and into the streets once again, tail sticking straight up and hovering above the ground to make sure he didn't hit anything by accident. "Amazing fella i tell ya. Anyways, your job is to keep an eye on him for a while, the National gaurd and other such organizations have been telling us for a while that we need to monitor him at all times, we've tried to for the past couple of years, but people aren't that comitted, so you'll be watching over him."
Daniel, sweating a bit, adjusted his neck tie and almost choked when he spoke "Me? Y-you want me to-"
"Yes! Did i not make that clear?" Phillips almost seemed annoyed at the new agents impatence.
"But..why?"
"Like i said, the government wants a close eye on him." Phillips handed him a map "He lives in a cave off the coast, near the bay. Be extra attentive, these last couple a days he's been very. . .
