"I hope I can see him again" the optimistic mermaid princess wished with all her heart as she swam to the surface with her penguin guardian, right after managing to fool her fellow mermaids and escape.
Once she was in the human world and reunited with Nikora, her "big sister", it was time for Lucia to adapt to the human world, enrolling as a student and also helping with the chores in Pearl Piari. Not used to her human body and the kind of work needed outside of her natural environment as a mermaid princess, she ends up making a mess but Nikora still congratulates her for her enthusiasm after a hard day work as they have dinner.
"Thank you Nikora"
"I told you, I'm your big sister here"
"Oh, that's right, is still strange to say it... This is delicious, a bit different from what we have in the kingdom but also a bit similar"
"Well, it's still sea food after all, it's not that different" Nikora said, scratching her head and dropping her stern facade for once remembering her own adaptation to human life "Okay, I will give you something special for your first day"
"Really? What could it be Nik... big sister?" Lucia watched curiously as Nikora went and retrieved something from the fridge she had never seen before. It reminded her of clouds in a sunny day, all white and soft.
"It's just cake" Nikora laughed as she watched the princess look at it with childlike curiosity and touching it as if it was some precious thing "Just eat it, you will love it"
Nikora chuckled again enjoying the reaction of Lucia having cake for the first time "So good! This is amazing, what is this?"
"Something that we can only have here in the human world, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I made the same face when I had it"
"But it's so little, do you have more big sister?"
"Eh? No, we're not supposed to eat so much"
"Why?"
"Taki-san told me it can make you sick, and it's not good even for humans to eat a lot"
"Why? It's just so good! It's the best thing I've ever eaten"
"I can give you some more if you keep working hard tomorrow, deal?"
"Whaat? That's blackmail Niko.. big sister!"
"It's not blackmail!" Nikora shook her head watching how Lucia's mood went from ecstatic after tasting the delicacy to sulking for not being able to have more. It just reinforced her belief the princess was still a kid but for now she would continue supporting her to find her pearl and helping adapt to the human world
