Jackie and Joyce spent the rest of the car journey whispering amongst themselves, every once in a while she would catch eyes with Ben in the rear view mirror. She thought it a little strange, ordinarily he would be constantly agitated at her or her mothers presence, but right now he seemed ok. Perhaps he even seemed happy, almost smug.

Jackie continued to converse with her mother until they arrived. She climbed out of the SUV and brushed down the back of her skirt, Ben and Elizabeths car was filthy. It was also far below the standard of vehicle she would ordinarily debase herself to travel in, but she wasnt one to turn down a free trip to the Avengers mansion.
Inside everyone was milling around waiting for the main event. Jackie grabbed some refreshments and then caught sight of Ben. He looked agitated and twitchy, even more so than usual. Jackie smirked, maybe he was just super excited at meeting the heroes.
As she finished her drink, the Avengers came out and she decided to stand with her mother. Before she could make it through the room a bright blue beam streaked across the room, hitting the Hulk square in the chest. The crowd surged as people screamed and tried to escape and Jackie knew she had to find her mother and sister, however she found the last person she wanted to see.
"Ben! Where are uhhh" Jackie couldn't finish the sentence as she was shoved violently into her sister's husband knocking him over and landing on top. There was a flash of light and Ben shoved her away and began raving
"Oh no no no, you bitch! Do you know what you've done?" He screamed. He never got a chance to explain what she had done as a repulsor blast hit him, knocking him unconscious. Iron man descended next to Jackie.
"Head for the exit ma'am, we have some questions about what he did to the Hulk." Iron man said before grabbing Ben and carrying him away.
Jackie looked around for the Hulk to see what had happened but she couldn't see him she could see Black Widow tending to an emaciated husk, but no Hulk.
Jackie headed outside and found Elizabeth and her mother before climbing into the SUV to head home.
Jackie couldnt help but feel odd though.
