It seemed Cecilia was going to be seen in many rather shameful forms today. Ichika entered the cafeteria, dressed in light exercise gear, sweating slightly. Cecilia sat up, ignoring the protests of her belly, and brushed the crumbs away from her mouth in a panic, only to see who was following after him. Cecilia frowned. For he was chatting amiably to none other than the similarly dressed Shinonono Houki, his busty childhood friend with a long dark ponytail and a near constant frown on her cute face. She was aware that they often exercised together, but that didn’t make their close contact today any less vexing. Ichika was around other girls far too often. Girls who felt very strongly about him.
“Oh Cecilia! Fancy seeing you here!”
Soon enough, Ichika had dragged his food and his companion to sit across from Cecilia. The two rivals in love stared at each other in silence.
“I wonder if something’s wrong…?” Thought the blissfully dense boy as he began to eat his food hungrily.
“Ahem… so, Ichika. How was that training session for you?” Houki was the first to speak up, glancing at Cecilia with pride in her eyes, trying to push the exercise-shy girl out of the conversation.
“Mm? Err, pretty good I guess… I’m certainly hungry after all that.”
“Yes, me too… “ She glanced at Cecilia’s many empty plates." We both appreciate our personal fitness don’t we, Ichika? Keeping our bodies well maintained?”
“Yeah. I mean, I want to become a strong IS pilot. Fitness is important, right?”
Houki took this chance to turn to Cecilia and puff out her already large chest with pride, her angular mouth forming a rare and smug smile. Cecilia was appalled! Did this mean Ichika only liked women who were exercise maniacs…? Stick thin, eating leaves and running laps every morning before class?! She couldn’t let Houki continue to have so much time alone with him!
“A-Aha, yes… I Say, I-Ichika-san…” she swallowed nervously, a little red. “I’ve been meaning to increase my fitness too… I don’t suppose you could help me, could you? Like you do with Shinonono-san?”
He looked a little surprised, always poor at hiding his emotions.
“Okay! Houki won’t mind. But are you su-“
“Ichika! You idiot! Go train with your precious Cecilia for all I care!”
The ponytailed girl stood up and slapped Ichika on the back of the head, before taking her tray to the other side of the cafeteria in a huff.
“Owch… Why…?”
“Ichika-san, thank you so much! Wh-When can we begin!?” Cecilia’s eyes sparkled with joy as she leaned over the table, her tummy hanging down, gurgling in protest to the idea of exercise.
Ichika looked at her for a moment, whilst he rubbed his throbbing head. He never thought he’d see Cecilia of all people so eager to work out…
