"Look Tony," Andy says, "It's not that anyone is trying to be difficult, but we need to agree on a project during this class, and we have less that 10 minutes left. The guidelines are clear that if there's a disagreement about the project then we put it to the vote, and the majority decision rules. The alternative is that we all fail Humanities before we even finish the first lesson. So it's now up to you - do we all flunk the subject before we even start or are you going to give the group a chance at getting a grade?"
Well, you know full well that there's no way that anyone will manage to come up with a fresh project idea within 10 minutes, and you know your mom would kill you if you failed trying to get your grade, so you seem to be left with little alternative but to accept.
"Oh bugger." is all you can initially say. "Surely there must be something else?" The other four all look at you, with expressions being a cross between desperation and pleading. and you know that the future of this project, and therefore your possible success or failure in Humanities, lies in the decision you take."
"Oh, bloody Hell. Alright, I'll do it." you utter.
The sense of relief in the group is evident instantly, and you have suddenly become everyone's best friend, with smiles all around, and everyone wanting to express their gratitude. But what the heck have you got yourself into? In order to provide a point you will have to dress up as a girl - or to be more precise pretend to be a girl to the extent that everyone around you will treat you as if you are a girl.
"That brilliant Tony. Thanks for saving our lives." Andy says. "Look - I'm sorry it had to end this way, but we'll all do everything we can to help make it work. Guess we'd better work out how we're going to record the expectations and how you respond..."
"Yeah - and how you think you can make me look vaguely convincing as a girl." you reply.
"Yeah, and that too." Andy responds. The bell rings to signify the end of the lesson. "Look, shall we meet up after school to work out what to do next?"
