You can see the girls looking at each other, and have an ominous feeling that there is some form of unspoken communication going on, that you feel would be to your advantage to be aware of. After a few seconds Rachael turns back to face you.
“Look Tony, we all thought we had a promising subject for a humanities project. We're sorry you're not happy about it, and we really don’t want to completely throw away the idea yet. Could we at least ask that you think about it during the day? We'll look for any other options around the basic premise that might allow us to continue somehow. Later, as school finishes for the day you meet Rachael in the main corridor.
