Is it possible that his sekirei are actually doing this to him?

Maybe all sekirei (or at least all of his) are FFAs.

Or, perhaps you remember the scences in the anime when they would try to feed him and get into fights over it. Maybe they take it too far, perhaps in an arguement about whose cooking Minato perfers. (And sekirei eat more than twice what a normal human does, so even their smallest portions will leave Minato stuffed)
